Holos Communities transformed a vacant lot in Los Angeles into the King 1101 Apartments, an affordable, four-story multifamily building with a mix of studio, one-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments for 25 formerly unhoused families and military veterans. The building design, which complements the surrounding neighborhood, is in a California contemporary style that provides open and functional spaces for residents with ample natural light and ventilation that decrease energy consumption. 

 

King 1101 features a unique green roof, solar water heating, bike parking, electric vehicle charging, gated parking and entries, management and social services offices, outdoor green space, a community room, a community kitchen, and a community garden.

A 709 square foot commercial space is available for lease as part of Holos Communities’ Small Business Resiliency Program which includes discounted rental rates and a tenant improvement loan for the business that moves into the space. Owner is open to any and all types of occupants and particularly looking for women and/or Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) owned-businesses to apply or other community serving businesses.
