Construction progressing in Sylmar and Long Beach

Construction on the Metamorphosis on Foothill apartments is continuing as scheduled: check out the video! The community will contain a park with ADA walking paths, community gardens, a basketball court, a citrus orchard, and a bioswale that will filter water more efficiently than traditional hardscaping. Construction is expected to finish by September of 2020. Metamorphosis will include 47 apartments for households that have experienced homelessness. Penny Lane Centers will provide on-site social services.

Meanwhile in Long Beach, Vistas del Puerto is taking shape and is expected to complete construction in October 2020. Vistas will provide new hope for 47 households to stabilize their lives and leave the cycle of homelessness for good. Half of the homes will be reserved for households with chronic health conditions who have experienced homelessness, with the other half reserved for large families. Social services at Vistas del Puerto, provided by Mental Health America of Los Angeles, will include case management, mental health treatment, employment support, and resident activities.

CBH is also in development on Corazon del Valle in Panorama City, highlighted in the news by Streetsblog LA.
