Sustainability Through Solar at Holt Family Apartments

At Clifford Beers Housing, we believe in the power of building in the now, while forging tools for the future. As we’re building new projects with sustainable features implemented from the start, we’re also looking at where we can fill in the gaps in our existing properties to make them more environmentally conscious in a way that benefits our communities.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be installing solar panels in our Holt Family Apartments community to meet this goal! Thanks to the Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) Program, Clifford Beers will be able to install approximately 50 solar panels at Holt once plans are finalized.

After the solar panels are installed, Holt Family Apartments will self-generate 70% of its own electricity, saving tenants $160,000 and the property $200,000 over a 20-year period! This means that our community will have reduced costs on their bills over the years.

Prioritizing environmental equity and carbon neutrality begins with us, and we’re looking forward to implementing more sustainability retrofits across our currently existing properties to achieve this goal.
