Holos Communities receives Enterprise’s Community Partner of the Year Award

Holos Communities was honored to receive the Community Partner of the Year Award from Enterprise Community Partners on September 29th at Enterprise’s 2022 Southland Social gala.

Reflecting the “Breaking Barriers, Building Communities” theme of the gala, Holos Communities was honored for our “demonstrated, consistent, and high impact commitment to making the alleviation of poverty a countywide priority” through our work. This award elevates our partnership with Enterprise as a model for what is possible when cross-sector stakeholders unite to bring about exponential impact.

“If I were to ask you which crisis is more important to solve: homelessness, housing, global warming, or racial inequity, what would you say?  Those are difficult choices right?  Yet, that is what we have in front of us, multiple, urgent challenges facing all Angelenos, all of which need to be solved because they are all equally important,” said Cristian Ahumada, CEO of Holos Communities. “Tackling these issues requires a holistic approach that requires leveraging the programs we have come to rely on while simultaneously embracing of new tools and strategies.“

Holos was honored for our work beyond housing, working to connect residents to employment and address displacement in properties that understood the need to design for a changing climate. Our rebrand emerged from our evolution over time of how Holos approached solving for intersectional problems - taking a holistic approach to solving several converging challenges, such as a lack of housing, climate change, racial inequity and displacement.

Over time, we’ve seen that our spaces are not solely providing housing, but are living ecosystems that take integrated, holistic paths to meeting community needs.

Holos Communities was pleased to share the stage with Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Holly J. Mitchell receiving the Visionary of the Year award, and the Weingart Foundation receiving the Philanthropic Partner of the Year award.
