Goody Square is a proposed affordable housing community located immediately adjacent to major rail transit in Los Angeles. The project is being designed to make the most of a rare urban infill site by delivering a substantial number of new affordable homes in a location where residents can connect directly to jobs, schools, services, and regional mobility without relying primarily on private automobiles.

Holos is exploring an ambitious mass timber design approach for Goody Square that brings together affordability, sustainability, transit-oriented density, and long-term community value. Mass timber offers the potential to reduce embodied carbon while also responding to the technical constraints of building on a complex urban site near major transit infrastructure. The project is expected to include family-sized homes, community-serving ground-floor commercial space, and high-performance building strategies that reduce environmental impact over time.

As the concept advances, Goody Square represents the kind of climate-conscious, transit-oriented, mixed-use affordable housing Holos believes Los Angeles needs more of: more homes near transit, lower-carbon construction, and thoughtful use of land in places already connected to the region’s infrastructure.

Please note that images and pictures are initial concepts and will be developed further as the project progresses.
